Patientinterview after a surgical ablation
His atrial fibrillation returned just a few months after the stent was inserted. Mr. H. has many risk factors that can cause atrial fibrillation, arterial hypertension, age and coronary heart disease. After a cardioversion, we discussed the different treatment options for atrial fibrillation. Although catheter ablation was the treatment of choice at his age, it was not an option because the patient was against it. That is why we performed a surgical ablation.
