World-class atrial fibrillation treatment in switzerland — now accessible to canadian patients
Timely treatment matters — especially for atrial fibrillation ablation
In Canada, many patients face long waiting times to see a cardiac specialist or receive an ablation. For those living with atrial fibrillation, these delays can be critical — early intervention is essential to prevent the progression of the condition and reduce complications.
At Swiss Ablation, we believe that patients should not have to wait for quality care. In Switzerland, the average waiting time for a cardiac ablation is typically under two weeks, and this is the same standard we offer to our Canadian patients.
We often hear from Canadians who have waited over 18 months for a specialist appointment or procedure date. The main challenges are the limited availability of specialized centers and a lack of awareness about the importance of timely treatment.
Our goal is to bridge this gap — providing rapid access to advanced ablation therapy in one of Europe’s most trusted medical environments.
Our service - how we can help!
Switzerland is world-renowned — not only for its chocolate, watches, and breathtaking nature, but also for its outstanding medical excellence.
At Swiss Ablation, you benefit from direct access to leading heart specialists — with no waiting times and personalized care every step of the way.
- Everything begins with you sending us your medical documents by email to our international patient coordinator.
- Your case is then carefully reviewed and triaged, and the initial organizational steps are taken.
- Next, you will have a video consultation (Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams) to discuss your situation in detail and establish first contact with our doctors. Based on this consultation, we plan your catheter ablation procedure and your stay in Zurich.
- While you are in Zurich you will receive a cell phone number of one of our doctors and we are available 24/7 for you
Technical details
For catheter ablation, we use the latest technologies such as pulsed field ablation (PFA), and 3D Mapping whenever necessary. Should you require hybrid ablation we have a dedicated program to this effect. For persistent or long standing persistent atrial fibrillation cases, or patients who don't want to take blood thinners, surgical ablation is an excellent option.
Our approach is a routine same day discharge atrial fibrillation ablation program with very short waiting time.
Experience the precision, safety, and hospitality that make Swiss medicine truly exceptional. We were even featured in the Canadian Zoomers magazine in 2025.
