In addition to classic heart surgery, he deepened his experience in the field of minimally invasive heart surgery and introduced thoracoscopic ablation in atrial fibrillation in Switzerland. Wim-Jan van Boven

Wim-Jan van Boven is a heart and lungs surgeon from the Netherlands. He was the one who invented the thoracoscopic approach for atrial fibrillation ablation in 2006 and did pioneering work for heart and lung therapy. With Sacha Salzberg he introduced thoracoscopic ablation in Switzerland in 2008. They have several years of joint experience in the surgical ablation of atrial fibrillation.

The German cardiologist Thomas Zerm is a specialist in internal medicine, cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. As a pioneer in electrophysiology he has a very broad experience. He has built and currently leads the department of electrophysiology at the Albertine Heart and Vascular Center in Hamburg, Germany. At the Heart & Rhythm center, he leads the cardiological evaluations, electrophysiological assessments (EPU) and assists with the catheter ablations.

Olaf Franzen is an interventional cardiologist who, in collaboration with the Heart & Rhythm Center, he performs all cardiac examinations. His long standing interventional activity also comes into play when we use new and innovative catheter procedures. Dr. Franzen complements our therapy concept. He carries out all inpatient and outpatient situations and accompanies our patients medically during the hospitalization.
