Our vision
The now widespread cardiac arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, is now an increasing problem in more and more people - associated with a deterioration in quality of life and increased mortality. Like most chronic diseases, this cardiac arrhythmia seems to be closely linked to changes in lifestyle over the last 60 years - especially in the "western" hemisphere. Thus, this arrhythmia is in line with diseases of civilisation such as arterial hypertension, diabetes, obesity or coronary heart disease. In our opinion, holistic care with the most modern therapy approach is part of primary care and should be easily integrated into everyday life by us doctors. We pursue the goal of carrying out necessary measures as gently and effectively as possible in order to avoid complicated and repeated heart interventions whenever possible. Our holistic therapy approach always includes attention to predisposing factors and their consistent treatment. Only in this way can the effectiveness of the therapy be significantly increased in the long term.

Our services
Our core competence is the detection, treatment, aftercare and, of course, prophylaxis of cardiac arrhythmias. We distinguish ourselves through our high quality service standards. In addition to the medical aspects, this also applies above all to accessibility in case of questions and emergencies. Our centre was designed with the expertise of more than 20 years in the care of cardiac arrhythmias and is equipped in every respect in terms of medical technology and personnel. A dedicated, perfectly trained team of doctors and nurses accompanies the outpatient procedures and ensures the highest effectiveness and lowest complication rates and manages to make our patients' stay as pleasant as possible.
Our team
Swiss Ablation was founded by Prof. Salzberg and Dr. Zerm, both internationally recognised specialists. They are supported by an interdisciplinary team consisting of recognised physicians from various fields (psychocardiology, nutritional and sports medicine, angiology).
Sacha P. Salzberg
Prof. Salzberg is a specialist in cardiac and thoracic vascular surgery (FMH) and founder of Swiss Ablation. The internationally recognised specialist enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide and can be described as a luminary in cardiac surgery. He was trained in Switzerland, the Netherlands and the USA. In Switzerland he is considered a pioneer of thoracoscopic ablation for atrial fibrillation. In addition to classical heart surgery, he has specialised in minimally invasive heart surgery. Sacha Salzberg speaks German, English, French, Dutch and Italian. He also operates at various major hospitals in Switzerland, Monte-Carlo and Munich and in his own practice in Zurich's Puls 5.
Thomas Zerm
Dr. Zerm is a cardiologist specialising in electrophysiology and co-founder of Swiss-Ablation. He headed the Department of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Albertinen Heart and Vascular Centre in Hamburg and has been a partner in the "Centre de Cardiologie Valaisan" in Sion for many years, where he was one of the first in the world to launch outpatient interventional electrophysiology. At the Heart and Rhythm Centre in Zurich, he is responsible for cardiological evaluations, electrophysiological investigations (EPU) and complex catheter ablations. In addition to his cardiological work, Thomas Zerm has a lot of experience in preventive medicine - especially in sports and nutritional medicine.
